A través del Decreto 598 de 2020, Colombia reguló las Compañías Holding Colombianas (CHC), figura introducida por la ley de financiamiento, con el principal objetivo de atraer la inversión extranjera directa al país. Las compañías que harán parte de este régimen serán aquellas que tengan por actividad principal la “tenencia de valores, la inversión o holding de acciones o participaciones en sociedades colombianas y/o del exterior, y/o la administración de dichas inversiones” según describe el Título II del Estatuto Tributario. Esto representa una oportunidad crucial para Colombia en asuntos de inversión extranjera porque permitirá que el país sea una opción más competitiva para la atracción de capitales del exterior.
